What is Adaptive Skateboarding?

Adaptive skateboarding at Ability Skateboarding is an inclusive, athlete‑centered approach that opens the sport to people with physical or cognitive disabilities. Through specialized equipment, athlete specific programming, and supportive coaching, we create pathways for athletes of all abilities to experience movement, confidence, and the pure joy of skateboarding. Our programs are designed to meet each participant where they are, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to roll, learn, and belong.

What is WCMX?

WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross) is an adaptive action sport tailored for individuals using wheelchairs or adaptive equipment due to physical disabilities. In WCMX, athletes maneuver wheelchairs on skatepark ramps, executing spins, flips, and grinds, showcasing agility and skill in an environment akin to skateboarding or BMX. WCMX fosters inclusivity, allowing participants to experience the thrill of action sports, display creativity, and demonstrate athleticism while shaping dynamic and supportive communities for individuals with diverse abilities.
